Joshua Falek
Joshua "Josh" Falek is a PhD student at York University in Gender, Feminist and Women’s Studies. Their research explores the contingencies of the recent recognition of non-binary embodiment by the Canadian state. In particular, Joshua employs trans studies, Black studies, Indigenous Studies, affect studies, and critical psychology to theorize the relations between non-binary embodiment, state recognition, and anti-Black colonial and carceral affective infrastructures. They have two kittens named Joey and Charlie. Their work has been published in the Canadian Journal of Disability Studies and Cultural Studies.
